Treatment Aftercare Instructions

Aftercare is a vital part of any aesthetic treatment. Whether you’ve received neuromodulators, dermal fillers, or a facial, following the recommended aftercare instructions helps minimize side effects, promotes optimal healing, and enhances your results. Taking a few simple steps post-treatment ensures you get the safest and most beautiful outcome possible.

Neurmodulator Aftercare
(Botox / Dysport)

To achieve the best results and minimize side effects, please follow these aftercare guidelines after your neuromodulator treatment:

What to DO:

  • Stay upright for 4 hours following your treatment.

  • Gently move your face (smile, frown, raise eyebrows) to help the product settle into the muscles.

  • Apply a cold compress if needed for any mild swelling or bruising.

  • Use Tylenol (acetaminophen) if you experience discomfort (avoid ibuprofen or aspirin as they may increase bruising).

  • Return to normal activities such as walking or light errands.

What to AVOID for 24 Hours:

  • No rubbing, massaging, or applying pressure to the treated areas.

  • Avoid makeup or skincare products directly on the injection sites.

  • Skip strenuous exercise, yoga, or any activity that increases blood flow to the face.

  • Refrain from consuming alcohol or blood-thinning medications (unless prescribed).

  • Do not lie down or bend forward excessively for at least 4 hours.

  • Avoid saunas, hot tubs, tanning beds, and extreme heat.

What to Expect:

  • Results begin to appear in 3 to 5 days, with full results visible at 10 to 14 days.

  • Small bumps or redness may appear at injection sites and typically resolve within a few hours.

  • Bruising is possible and usually fades within a few days.

  • If you have any concerns or experience unusual symptoms, contact us immediately.

Follow-Up:

  • A follow-up appointment can be booked 2 weeks post-treatment if touch-ups are needed.

  • Results typically last 3 to 4 months, depending on individual metabolism and lifestyle.

Dermal Filler Aftercare

To ensure optimal results and reduce the risk of complications, please follow these aftercare guidelines after your filler treatment:

What to DO:

  • Apply a cold compress gently to reduce swelling or bruising (15 minutes on, 15 minutes off).

  • Keep your head elevated for the first few hours post-treatment.

  • Stay well hydrated and maintain a healthy diet to support healing.

  • If needed, you may take acetaminophen (Tylenol) for discomfort. Avoid NSAIDs like ibuprofen or aspirin unless directed by your provider.

What to AVOID for 24–48 Hours:

  • Do not touch, press, or massage the treated areas unless instructed.

  • Avoid strenuous exercise or activities that increase heart rate or facial flushing.

  • Refrain from consuming alcohol, caffeine, or salty foods, as these can contribute to swelling.

  • Avoid exposure to extreme heat such as saunas, hot tubs, or tanning beds.

  • Do not apply makeup or skincare directly to the injection sites for at least 12 hours.

What to Expect:

  • Mild swelling, redness, tenderness, or bruising at the injection site is common and usually resolves within a few days.

  • Small lumps or asymmetry may occur during the initial healing process but often settle as the filler integrates.

  • Final results are typically visible within 7–14 days once swelling subsides.

Follow-Up:

  • Avoid scheduling dental work, facials, or other aesthetic treatments for at least two weeks post-injection.

  • A follow-up appointment can be scheduled if adjustments are needed once healing is complete.

If you experience significant pain, severe swelling, blanching of the skin, or any unusual symptoms, contact us immediately.

PRF / PRP Aftercare

(Microneedling with Platelet-Rich Fibrin or Platelet-Rich Plasma)

To maximize your results and support proper healing, please follow these aftercare guidelines:

What to DO:

  • Leave the PRF/PRP on your skin for at least 4–6 hours post-treatment to allow maximum absorption. If possible, leave it on overnight.

  • Use a gentle cleanser and lukewarm water to cleanse your face after the waiting period. Pat dry with a clean towel.

  • Apply a hydrating serum or recovery cream recommended by your provider to soothe and protect the skin.

  • Stay well-hydrated and avoid excess caffeine or alcohol to support skin regeneration.

What to AVOID for 24–72 Hours:

  • Do not apply makeup or other skincare products (including retinoids, acids, or exfoliants) for at least 24 hours.

  • Avoid touching, picking, or scratching the treated areas.

  • Avoid sun exposure and always wear broad-spectrum SPF when outdoors.

  • Refrain from intense exercise, hot showers, saunas, or anything that causes excessive sweating for 24–48 hours.

What to Expect:

  • Redness and mild swelling are normal and may last up to 48 hours. Some clients may also experience slight peeling or dryness as the skin renews.

  • Tiny pinpoint scabbing or sensitivity can occur; do not pick or exfoliate these areas.

  • Results continue to improve over the following weeks as collagen production increases.

Follow-Up:

  • Avoid scheduling any additional facial treatments for at least 2 weeks.

  • A series of treatments is typically recommended for best results. Your provider will advise on the ideal schedule for your skin goals.

Please contact us if you have any questions or experience unusual side effects.

Microneedling Aftercare

Microneedling stimulates collagen production and improves skin texture—but proper aftercare is essential for optimal results and a smooth recovery.

Immediately After Your Treatment:

  • Expect redness, sensitivity, and a mild sunburn-like sensation for 24–48 hours.

  • Some pinpoint bleeding or swelling may occur.

  • Do not touch or apply makeup for at least 24 hours to avoid infection.

What to AVOID (First 48–72 Hours):

  • No makeup or skincare products with active ingredients (retinol, acids, vitamin C).

  • Avoid sun exposure and always wear SPF 30+.

  • No sweating: skip the gym, saunas, or hot showers.

  • Avoid touching your face with unwashed hands.

  • No swimming or submerging your face in water.

What to DO:

  • Use only gentle, hydrating cleansers and non-active moisturizers recommended by your technician.

  • Stay hydrated—drink plenty of water.

  • Apply a soothing serum or hyaluronic acid as directed to promote healing.

  • Keep your skin moisturized and avoid letting it dry out.

In the Days That Follow:

  • Peeling or flaking may occur—do not pick or exfoliate.

  • Continue using gentle skincare for 3–5 days.

  • After 5–7 days, you may resume your regular skincare, unless otherwise advised.

Contact us if you experience:

  • Prolonged redness (over 4 days)

  • Rash, hives, or breakouts

  • Signs of infection (heat, pus, increased swelling)
